Abstract

This study aims to analyse the educational content on the Instagram account of the East Java Regional Police Traffic Directorate (@ditlantaspoldajatim) during the period of January to June 2025. The research focuses on identifying the dominant themes, visual strategies, and forms of message delivery used in traffic education campaigns. Using a qualitative descriptive approach with the content analysis method, data were collected through non-participant observation and documentation of Instagram posts. The data were then analysed using Krippendorff’s (2018) qualitative content analysis model, emphasizing contextual interpretation and message meaning. The findings indicate that the educational content on @ditlantaspoldajatim revolves around four main themes: driving safety, traffic ethics, regulation socialization, and public awareness campaigns. The messages are conveyed through visually engaging infographics, short videos, and persuasive captions that combine informative and participatory approaches. These strategies have made the account an effective medium for public education in promoting traffic discipline and safety culture in the digital era. This study contributes to the development of digital public communication practices, highlighting how government institutions can use social media as a participatory platform for public education and social change
