Abstract

This study aims to explore the implementation of Multiple Intelligences-based Islamic Religious Education (IRE) media as a pedagogical strategy for internalising Islamic values in Early Childhood Education (ECE) institutions in Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia. Using a qualitative approach with a multi-site case study design, this study involved three institutions representing different socio-economic contexts: Al-Iqro' Kindergarten (urban), Riyadlusshibyan Early Childhood Education Centre (suburban), and Insan Kaamil Kindergarten (rural). Data were collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, and analysed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña. The findings reveal that Multiple Intelligences-based Islamic Religious Education media are implemented through the reorientation of learning environments into multisensory spaces that facilitate the delivery of Islamic teachings through linguistic, kinesthetic, musical, interpersonal, and naturalistic approaches. These learning media are manifested in various contextual activities, including Islamic Market Day, rhythmic recitation of Hijaiyah letters, storytelling, role-playing, communal religious activities, and nature-based learning (Tafakkur Alam)
